MeetingsAmerica is Salt Lake's leading DMC for a very good reason. We have a dedicated staff that will take your theme ideas from concept to fruition. The size of your budget doesn't matter. We have satisfied clients who have planned quiet dinner receptions, and others for whom we have created near-Broadway-style productions.

This page lists a number of events that we have done in the past which serve as springboards for discussion. We specialize in creativity, by putting a package together that specifically meets your needs. In 20 years, we've done just about everything - and we've still got some great ideas left! Call us with your needs and we'll propose an event that you won't forget. The proposal doesn't cost a cent. It's our pleasure. Please contact LeAnn or Diana for more information!

It doesn’t take a tornado to stir up fun tonight. This event will provide guests a lot of fun and pleasure.

Guests will arrive and follow the Yellow Brick Road with glittering columns lining the pathway.

Décor is quite magical, with silver tablecloths, red glitter shoes with silver mylar stars coming out of the centerpieces. Trees and potted plants would line the path. Dorothy will entertain guests with Glenda the Good Witch and she will sing several numbers from The Wizard of Oz. The Tin Man, Lion, and Scarecrow will interact with the crowd and keep things lively.

    Let the Winter Games Begin!
What a great way to spend a cold winter or hot summer evening! Inside!

Tonight’s event will focus on team building. Each group that participates will be assigned to a winter games team. There is a medals platform where prizes will be presented, as well as a photographer to capture the moment. In the center of the room can be a demonstration of Ski Jumping. Team events for the evening will consist of mock curling, figure skating on teflon ice, speed skating (on roller-blades), luge, dog sled race, cross country race, bobsled and luge photo ops.

A photographer will be available for picture opportunities with a green screen photo. A picture souvenir can be available for guests to take for a memento of the evening. Add a real Olympian to pose with your guests, and even autograph their memento photograph.
    MASH
    All hands...Report to KP

As guests enter the venue/4077th MASH unit, they are greeted by the voice of a Radar-soundalike over a scratchy loudspeaker welcoming them. Signs indicating "USO Show", focus on group themes, and pay an underlying patriot homage to the countries of the US and Canada (United We Stand, etc.) Inane announcements periodically will add to the fun. Music will be fun, warm and appropriate to the period.

The buffet tables will be decorated with familiar Army "mess" items, including real compartmentalized tin plates for their gourmet "chow". Palm trees and foliage will line the perimeter of the ballroom, with Gobo lights projecting palm trees and other images to suggest a "foreign setting" theme.

Throughout the room, familiar settings will be faithful to the movie and TV show - including the barracks, the sign with dozens of directional pointers on it, camouflage netting, the "swamp" (bars), the OR and Colonel Potter's HDQTRs.

Entertainment and dancing will be provided by "Big Band" music, and/or early "50s" style music, including Elvis and others. We'll take time out periodically for a "Klinger Look-Alike Contest", pick guests out of the audience for a MASH skit (we'll make them up to look like the TV stars), a fill-in-the-acronym contest (M__A__S__H--), or a MASH trivia contest.

By the end of the evening, guests will be "in stitches" over their own antics in making this "operation" a success.
    Night in Casablanca
Salt Lake gets exotic, as your group goes back to the Golden Era of Bogie and Bacall, at Rick's American Café.

Tables will be set up with a single cabaret candle and café tablecloth. Two large projection screens will show the movie Casablanca during the evening.

Center stage will accommodate a real Prop Airplane, décor, and an authentic "Big Band" band. Searchlights and fog machines will enhance the atmosphere. A Moroccan-lattice screen backdrop and mural backdrop for the band will add to the ambiance.

A young man in a dapper white suit with two companion women in 40's dress will greet guests at the door and hand out tickets to redeem for poker chips.

Two casino areas will be set up in the event area, with vintage cars. Two impersonator actors will be dressed as Humphrey Bogart, and Ingrid Bergman. They will mix with the crowd and be available for Photo Ops. There will be craps tables, black jack tables, big wheel roulette, Caribbean poker and bingo. Foreign Legion officers will redeem chips for tickets to an auction that will be available for guests to drop their tickets for bid.

All casino staff will be dressed in black pants, white shirts and Fez hats. The auctioneer will be costumed in a white suit with hat. Guests will bid on items of their choice with tickets they will earn through the casino.
    Renaissance Fair
Welcome Lords and Ladies to a Renaissance Fair.

Come, step back in time to a place where romance and chivalry abound and a magical world of knights, maidens, fairies and minstrels can be found. Enjoy an evening together with friends where colorful cloth and imaginative style combine with food and drink to create an event that makes history!

In the reception area, Renaissance singers and minstrels greet arriving guests. There, amid cabaret tables accented with soft candlelight, drinks and tasty morsels are served prior to dinner. The Grand Hall opens to a vision of topiaries, pennant flags, rich velvet banners and of course a castle.

Noblemen & ladies, mimes, jugglers, jesters, and knights interact and perform throughout the hall prior to a sumptuous feast provided for the guests.

Dinner tables, draped in cream linens with tapestry overlays, and adorned with flowers create the perfect setting for feasting and renewing acquaintances.

Choose from music of the medieval period or tunes from a more recent era where a dance floor can be available.
    Speakeasy Reception
They are the subject of legend and lore from Al Capone to the Lady in Red. Gangsters of the 1920’s live in infamy. Once through the entrance, guests step back in time to the days when men were men, and women were dangerous. Guests will enter the ballroom through a secret alley entrance, as with the Speakeasies of old. Once inside, however guests are surrounded by the opulent lifestyles of the gangsters and their friends. Elegant black and white palm trees, topped with wispy feather plumes, set the scene as hand painted cutouts of character from the 20's’complete the scene.

Greeting guests as they step up to the door, is house doorman, Spats. Tommy gun in hand, Spats has full authority to grant or deny entrance-just hope you catch him in a good mood!

Aside from the illegal alcohol, no speakeasy was complete without the gambling parlor, and tonight it’s “bet on the ponies”! As guests enter costumed Jockettes will greet them. These hostesses will welcome guests and give them racing programs as well as betting “money”. The program will list the evening’s races, and explain the rules of the games. This program will be custom designed for your group. You can name the races, and the horses to fit your group and the meeting’s theme.

Races will run every 15 - 20-min. on a large video screen. Guests will win customized money for “win”, “place” or “show” in each race. Between races, guests will be entertained by the sounds of a 14 pc. BIG BAND. Staff will be dressed in flapper costumes, and gangster suits. (Approx. 5 hours)
    Western Mining
You’ll be on the lookout for Sneaky Pete, Doc Holiday, Wyatt Earp, Annie Oakley, and the OK Coral.

The venue will be transformed into a western town with 12’ high storefronts of a saloon, livery stable, dry goods store, bank, Chinese laundry, an assay office, church, jail and an old west casino. All storefronts are realistic with windows, doors, and authentic signage. They can be used to dispense poker chips and coupons. Life size western figures cutouts will be placed throughout the room, with sagebrush, straw bales, barrels, full size log fencing and other western props.

Buffets will have large centerpieces of half scale covered wagons and floral, on linens of old weathered photographer’s tarp. Soft drinks can be served in iced horse troughs. Cabaret tables will be topped with red and white checked tablecloths, along with a western floral centerpiece.

Entertainment will include panning for gold, and an old fashioned photo booth. The cash bar area will be set up as a saloon with saloon girls and a honky tonk piano player. Western actors will interact with the crowd (such as the sheriff arresting the guests.) Each guest will receive a western bandana and straw hat as favors upon entry. (approx. 5 hours)
